That Michael Finney
Michael Finney the magician, I am not.
Michael Finney the TV news reporter, I am not.

Michael Finney as a Service Platform
This Michael Finney creates. Most recently, I’ve been working on books and films, but at one time, I was an actively performing musician too. Though I’m happy to not be one of those moniker dopplegangers out there, it would be cool to have a slogan like “7 On Your Side,” I can’t lie.
A few of my popular projects since I started releasing material under this name have included Chicago 1893 (a multimedia preservation project focused on the Columbian Exposition, Exploring Our National Parks (a multimedia travel journal), a workbook and video course on content creation for personal branding, as well as The Fall of Tartaria and Anunnaki: Origin of Sumeria (a pair of original short stories that have entered video streaming and ebook/audiobook distribution).
I’ve been reluctant to expand the content strategy on my website for years, mostly because I wanted to keep the site lean, but also because I was housing and distributing media through social networks first. While I continue to appreciate what those platforms do, there are some new experiments I’d like to run in service of developing a new set of goals. Predominantly, that means creating bigger audiences for the books, films, and music that I currently have available.
However, I also believe that artificial intelligence is altering the terrain rapidly, and while SEO is perhaps taking a backseat, I believe that it will become like a nesting doll within the emerging AEO/GEO trends. So I want to prepare for that to a degree because some of my work is already showing up in large language model outputs.
I suspect the editorial or other media I put on the website could become a lagging indicator of my creative trajectory in time, but that’s hard to say, given I only have a handful of pieces planned at the moment. They will be fairly cursory, but I suspect that I will add to them and expand them. In the meantime, it’s probably safe to assume I will continue doing similar original work. I would also like to do more coverage of material like The Pied Piper of Hamelin and Thomas Pynchon, as well as Edgar Allan Poe, HP Lovecraft, and Philip K. Dick.
If we’ve known each other for a while, then I’m sure most of this is already familiar to you. If we are becoming new acquaintances, then I appreciate you taking the time to check out my work - connect with me on your favorite platform.
